Only Way is Essex ‘stars’ to open Shrewsbury bar

A bar in Shrewsbury is to mark its £200,000 refurbishment with an appearance by two stars from hit reality show The Only Way is Essex.

Harry Derbidge and Jessica Wright will be meeting their fans at the The Source Bar in Barker Street tomorrow as the nightspot hosts its reopening party.

Rob Bywater, manager of the Source Bar, said the venue would be open from about 7pm, with Harry and Jessica scheduled to take to the stage about midnight.

“They will be on stage for about half-an-hour and will stay behind after for autographs and photographs,” he said.

A sell-out crowd of about 300 people is expected for the evening, with entry costing £2 on the door.

Mr Bywater said: “We have opened up the space and doubled the size of the dancefloor area, which is the most exciting thing for me.”

He said that large projectors would also allow sporting events to be beamed into the bar in future.

Mr Bywater also said it was unlikely that Harry and Jessica would be the only celebrities visiting Shrewsbury in the near future.
