Wellington clock will return to market square
Wednesday 15th June 2011, 2:26PM BST.
Wellington’s iconic clock will return to the town’s market square, councillors have confirmed.
The Millennium Clock was moved to the town’s new £7.5 million civic quarter this year, but will be moved back to the square after 5,725 people signed a petition calling for it to be reinstated.
Members of Wellington Town Council last night agreed to place the clock outside Seaton Sports. Campaigner Peter Jones said he was delighted at the news.

Your report describes the clock as ‘iconic’. Does this mean it looks saintly, has a halo and comes in a gold-coloured frame?
I think we should be told.
