Chance to talk to planners over Church Stretton revamp

People in Church Stretton will today get the chance to grill planners and councillors on the proposed £70,000 revamp of their town centre.

Drawings showing two options for the redesigned High Street will be on show at a consultation event from 3pm to 7pm in the Silvester Horne Institute.

The streets will be made more pedestrian friendly under both plans, but only one includes a new one-way system on the High Street from the junction with Sandford Avenue to the Lion Meadow roundabout.

Town mayor Bob Welch said: “This scheme has been the subject of ongoing debate and consultation for almost five years, so it’ll be good to move further towards a resolution.

The drawings can also be viewed at the town council offices and the library until June 30 and at PCB solicitors in Sandford Avenue until June 24.
