Water waste claim as hosepipe ban looms

Shropshire has been hit by three water leaks across the county as the threat of hosepipe bans looms large due to the dry weather.
Residents claim water has been going to waste in Loppington, near Wem; Hopton Bank, near Cleobury Mortimer; and part of Telford because of the leaks. It has prompted residents to question the fairness of growing speculation that hosepipe bans for residents could be in the offing for the summer.
In Loppington parish councillors estimate thousands of gallons have gone to waste after water began gushing up through the road surface outside the post office.
