Letter: Hydrotherapy made a big difference
Monday 6th June 2011, 6:33AM BST.
Letter: It is my great regret that our Hydro Pool Club has recently ceased operating after nine years and after having donated in excess of £40,000 to the Princess Royal Hospital by running sessions at its hydrotherapy pool.
I would like to apologise to all those members who had been patiently waiting for us to restart sessions, only to be deeply disappointed, and also to the staff at the PRH and the primary care trust who have been very supportive of our club and will no longer be benefiting from the donations which helped to keep the facility running.
Over those years many volunteers have given freely of their spare time to run Jogra, whose services have been of great benefit to people with a wide range of physical and mental disabilities.
More recently, we had been increasingly reliant on a small band of dedicated volunteers who, as is often the case, worked tirelessly and unselfishly for many hours and whose efforts have been unrecognised outside of our club and the hospital.
I would like to record my sincere thanks to all of them, especially those who were with us from very early on until the very end.

This article doesn’t explain why the sessions have ceased, I presume it’s due to a shortage of volunteers?
