Oswestry assault victim, 87, dies in hospital

An 87-year-old Shropshire man who was assaulted by two men who broke into his home a month ago, has died in hospital.
Mr Charles Green, of Ambleside Road, Oswestry, died in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital early today.
He had remained in hospital following the assault during the early hours of May 2, having received head, hip and arm injuries.
Two men were arrested by police later the same day.
A 25-year-old has since been charged with entering Mr Green’s home as a trespasser and subjecting him to violence.
He appeared before Shrewsbury Crown Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody until July.
A 23-year-old man is currently on police bail pending further inquiries
