60,000 people expected at Cosford Air Show
Wednesday 1st June 2011, 3:12PM BST.
Organisers of this year’s Cosford Air Show today said they expected up to 60,000 people to attend the event.
The line-up for the show on June 12 has also been revealed.
It includes a first for one female pilot who will take to the controls for a display in the Hawk aircraft.
Flight Lieutenant Juliette Fleming will be flying the Hawk as a display pilot at the show.
Also up in the air will be the Yakovlevs, a flying display team who wowed the crowds last year, and the Hurribomber, Hurricane and Spitfire. The Avro Vulcan is also back and is expected to attract hundreds of people eager to see her take to the air once again.
Tickets for the show have now gone on sale and can be bought in advance for £19 or £25 on the gate.
Children under 16 go free when they are accompanied by an adult.
