Shrewsbury man in court on firearms charges

A 34-year-old Shrewsbury man today appeared in court charged with a string of firearms offences including possessing a sub-machine gun.
Philip Jones, of Olive Cottages, Frankwell, spoke only to confirm his name and address at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court.
He faces four firearms charges including possessing a pistol, a sub-machine gun and two rounds of ammunition.
He is also charged with possessing an explosive substance.
The case was adjourned until June 6.
