A woman who survived a Llanidloes reservoir car plunge which killed four family members was pulling into a lay-by when she was hit from behind.

Denise Griffith, 55, was at the wheel of a Peugeot 807 when it was shunted from behind, triggering the drop into water.

Mrs Griffith, of Pontypridd, south Wales, was the sole survivor of the collision which claimed the lives of her husband, mother and two foster sons.

The family were taking an early Easter break when tragedy struck on the B4518 at Bwlch y Gle Dam, Clywedog, on April 20.

Mrs Griffith had slowed down and was pulling into a lay-by to admire the view over the mid Wales reservoir beauty spot.
