Motorcyclist dies after Telford crash

One man died and another was seriously injured in a crash involving a motorbike and a car at a busy junction in Telford.
The men were on the motorbike when it was in collision with a car at the Trench Lock island in the town at about 10.15 last night.
The men, who were both in their 20s but have not been named, were taken by ambulance to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
Telford police spokesman Chris Ammonds said one of the men subsequently died from his injuries in hospital in the early hours of today.
West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman Suze Fothergill said two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an incident commander were sent to the scene.
She said: “There were reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a car.
“It appears two men had come off the motorcycle. One of them had head injuries and a suspected broken leg. They were both taken to the Princess Royal Hospital.”
Mr Ammonds appealed for witnesses to the crash to call police at Telford on 0300 333 3000.
