Oswestry car wrecking spree

Vandals set fire to seven cars and damaged three others in a wrecking spree in Oswestry in the early hours of this morning.

Police today appealed for help in tracing a group of youths that were seen in the town who they think could be responsible.

They say the arson attacks may also be linked to a suspected break-in at the town’s Gateacre Pavilion.

The alarm was raised at 3.20am with the first car fire in Middleton Road. Police later discovered it had been stolen from Devon.

Call Oswestry police on 0300 3333000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
