Letter: I’m amazed by our foreign aid donations
Wednesday 13th April 2011, 7:00AM BST.
Letter: I found it totally amazing to read in the press recently that the Government is going to give £650,000,000 to the Pakistan Government to spend on their education system.
Tories: Wake up and smell the coffee. What about “our” education system, the massive cuts in funding for students, increased fees, maintenance grant, etc, etc?
Increased taxes and national insurance . . . fuel prices going up . . . food prices increasing . . . massive cuts . . . child allowance cut for many people and many other things.
All these actions are because of the terrible mess the previous bunch of idiots got the country into. But have we changed one bunch of idiots for another? Really, £650,000,000 on the education system of another country – I am flabbergasted.
Too much is spent on foreign aid as it is, something in the region of £11 billion before long.
I really feel the Tories do not care about the people of this country. They seem intent on failing to keep many of their promises.
Did we get a referendum on the EU? No. What have they done about human rights legislation? They promised action to curb it but, as usual, talk with them is cheap.
Local elections are coming up and it is a sorry situation.
I am struggling to think that I could vote again for the Conservatives.
I would never vote Labour so will probably not vote at all to show my disgust with the Conservatives.

The problem with not voting at all is that nobody knows who you are disgusted with or even whether you’re disgusted at all.
In the interest of balance, it should be pointed out that there are alternatives to; Labour, Conservative, Not Voting At All.
I suspect the writer knows deep down which party their natural inclinations tend towards even if they won’t admit it to themselves.

apparently this government raised £500 million in extra taxes in this years budget, nice to know its going to deserving countrys who can spend millions on space research and arms, and promoting terrorists who are hell bent on killing us all in the name of a god… so really it is only costing us an extra £150million, this makes it easier to swallow. If we can aford to swallow anything or if we are still alive to swallow.

Is that a tone of disapproval there Nistagmus?
While I agree that the “not voting at all option” is counter productive, I am proud to say that I have voted for the BNP since the expenses scandal.
Do I vote BNP in the hope of turning Britain into a fascist state? No… At the moment I know that there are enough sane people in the country to ensure that doesn’t happen – I vote for the BNP because they are the only party that actually scare the big three, (two if you listen to some since this latest shambles took over).
While we all keep voting as we were brought up to then nothing will change – certainly not since the political class all decided to think, speak, act and look exactly the same – hardly surprising when they all went to the same public school though.
Like the “bigot” woman – insulted personally by the leader of the party she has supported all her life, what does she do now? Still support labour and run down the opposition, therefore proving her bigotry.
And if they continue in their ignorance of the people’s wishes then it will be their fault, not ours, when the real nutters take the reigns.

I was thinking UKIP, but if your inclination is to word associate ‘too embarrassed to admit it’ and ‘BNP’ together….
