Revamped Shrewsbury hotel to create 15 new jobs
Saturday 9th April 2011, 11:16AM BST.
A Shropshire bar, hotel and restaurant is due to reopen by the end of the month after undergoing a revamp costing more than £100,000 in a move which will create about 15 jobs.
The Bellstone Hotel in Shrewsbury town centre has been closed for the past few months and today its new bosses vowed they would reopen it with an emphasis on “quality”.
The hotel went into administration last year but remained open for business before closing a couple of months ago.
Today new leaseholder Steve Jenkins said the bar would reopen under the name Verve at the Bellstone Hotel.
He said: “It will be a slightly different look but it will basically be the hotel, plus the bar and a quality restaurant. It depends on how the building work goes but it is likely to open at the end of April.
“I am a completely new leaseholder, having taken over the lease on February 23. We will be employing completely new members of staff, I would think about 15.”
The menu for the restaurant will focus on Mediterranean and traditional English cuisine created by chef Albert Pronin.
The venue will open at 7am for breakfast and it will stay open throughout the day serving everything from morning coffees to lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals.
