A Shropshire director’s debut movie is to be featured at a top London film festival later this month.
Crime spoof, Inspector Drake, written and directed by David Tristram, of Highley, near Bridgnorth, has been accepted for the London Independent Film Festival.
The event, which runs from April 15 to April 24, showcases the work of first or second-time directors who have produced movies for less than £100,000.

Inspector Drake, which features several locations in the Bridgnorth area, was made for under £10,000.
Mr Tristram made the movie to mark the 25th anniversary of Inspector Drake, a character he originally created for the amateur dramatic stage.
He said he was delighted with the response the film had received from audiences both in the UK and as far afield as Australia and New Zealand.
And he revealed he was now working on the screenplay for a sequel, having been “bitten by the bug” of movie making.
The pun-packed film will get its festival screening at Shortwave cinema in Bermondsey on April 16.
It follows hapless Inspector Drake, played by Alan Birch, as he investigates the discovery of a severed head in the grounds of an exclusive manor house. The hero, ably hampered by Sergeant Plod, soon finds himself investigating the sinister consequences of an ancient and terrifying curse.
