The body of a swan found dead on a Shropshire canal has been sent to a specialist laboratory for a post mortem examination.

Albert, who was 14, was found dead on Newport’s canal by a member of the public on Tuesday.

The bird hit the headlines after being embroiled in a bitter love triangle with love rival Louis last month.

Results of the tests are due in seven to 10 days.
