More than £4 million in Government funding has been handed over to Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin to help pay for repairs to potholes in the wake of the Big Freeze.

Transport secretary Philip Hammond has provided £3.6 million to Shropshire Council and £660,000 to Telford & Wrekin Council as part of a national £200 million scheme to repair Britain’s roads.

It comes on top of a £100 million payout made by the Department of Transport last month after extra savings were made.

Hooray! Hope they spend some of it on the main road through Shifnal (and do it properly this time!). Must be a nightmare for the residents.
