Shakin’ Stevens among Ludlow Festival attractions

Only Fools and Horses star John Challis, writer Germaine Greer and singer-songwriter Shakin’ Stevens will be the headline attractions at this year’s Ludlow Festival, organisers today revealed.
The official line-up for the festival between June 23 and July 10 has been unveiled and will feature Mr Challis, aka Boycie, making his debut at the event performing as Malvolio in an open-air production of Twelfth Night at Ludlow Castle.
The play will be performed throughout the two weeks of the festival and Mr Challis has said he will be fulfilling a lifetime ambition by performing at the venue.
Ms Greer will give a talk entitled Shakespeare’s Wife at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on July 1 and author and former MP Gyles Brandreth will talk about his life and career at the same venue on July 8.
Mr Stevens will lead the grand finale Last Night Concert at Ludlow Castle on July 10 with support from local band the Sultana Brothers in an evening rounded off with a spectacular fireworks display.
