Shropshire youngster Victoria Cowie was today hailed a child genius — after scoring a higher IQ than Albert Einstein at the age of just 11.

Brainy Victoria, from Claverley, scored a mind boggling IQ of 162, beating both Einstein and also Microsoft tycoon Bill Gates by two points.

The youngster has stunned her parents Alison, 44, and David, 42, who run their own health and safety consultancy company.

Today Mr Cowie said they began to become aware of their only child's brain power from the age of three.

"She is just remarkable and we are so proud of her," he said. "When she was just three years old we were sitting in a cafe and she turned around and said 'you can't feed the swans here' and we asked her how she knew that.

"She had read it on the door of the cafe, but the letters were backwards. We knew then that she had something special.

"We don't think anything different about her though, she is just Victoria to us. We don't see her as this super brain, she is just a very happy child who loves playing music."

Mrs Cowie said "We couldn't believe it. She did the test a few weeks ago and the results put her in the top one per cent."
