Tesco’s leaflet campaign to help Welshpool
Friday 4th March 2011, 4:04PM GMT.
Leaflets are to be given to shoppers at Welshpool’s new Tesco store to encourage them to visit the town centre.
Welshpool Town Council is to produce 10,000 leaflets ready for when the store opens on March 14.
The leaflets will be given to people as they leave the store in a bid to get them to find out what is in the town centre shopping areas.
One of the main concerns of people opposed to Tesco is that the town centre and independent shops will suffer.

hey Tesco is coming whether you or the Town Council or anyone else likes it. Given that fact why not give credit to the Town Council to actually get up and do something to help. If you can think of anything positive to assist then by all means say so but otherwise ask yourself if negative carping really assists the traders. Remember the Town Council did not pass the planning application and Powys would be sued (at the expense of all council tax payers) if they refused the substantive application
