Visitor centre plan for Bridgnorth’s Severn Park
Thursday 3rd March 2011, 3:16PM GMT.
A visitor centre and cafe could be built at Bridgnorth’s Severn Park under plans by the town council.
The authority is in the early stages of considering the possibility of the development at the attraction.
It follows a discussion last year about possible improvements to Severn Park.
A report to a recent Bridgnorth Town Council property and grounds committee said: “The discussion included the potential offer of a visitor centre and cafe in the park.
“The locum town clerk (Anne Wilson) met with Shropshire Council planning to outline the proposals and discuss the building of such a facility in a flood plain.
“The town council has recently advertised for architects to tender to work on such a project.
“The charity from whom the town council lease the park are aware of the outline proposals.”
The plans could include toilets, a visitor facility, a cafe and exhibition space.
