More than 100 jobs saved at Bridgnorth Novelis factory
Tuesday 1st March 2011, 12:57PM GMT.
More than 100 jobs at Shropshire’s Novelis aluminium factory were saved today after bosses sold part of the company.
A total of 105 workers at the Bridgnorth site will now keep their jobs, but 214 will be made redundant.
Bosses at the aluminium factory, on Stourbridge Road, have sold its printed confectionery foil packaging section to Discovery Foils.
Pierre Labat, general manager of Novelis Europe’s packaging and converted products business, said about 105 employees would transfer to Discovery Foils along with the businesses’ assets.
