I do feel sorry for “Jo” But if he does not own the property, what does he expect. it could happen to any one any where, If the land lord needs money well he has to find it from some where, and in this case it is the house’s that he owns . The best thing that could happen is to get the coal board to relocate him.

Why should UK Coal be any different from anyone else who faces bills,if you haven’t got the ready cash you either have to borrow it or sell something to raise it.
I just wish the SS would hold back from their obvious witch-hunt, UK Coals courts success obviously put a few staff noses out!

Would these people be going to the SS if the landlord wasn’t UK Coal, I very much doubt it. A landlord regardless of who they are have the right to give people notice on their tenancy and sell the property. If they are that bothered why don’t they purchase the house, these things happen when you rent. Just another slur on UK Coal as it makes a good headline.

Just like every other corporation, screw people, debts and profits is all that matters to these rubbish – and they are rubbish.

UK Coal maybe within their rights to evict a tenant with only 2 months notice, but it does make a mockery of their pretence of being interested in the welfare of the local community. They should never have been allowed to dig there in the first place.
