Lights blow for Oswestry junction

Thursday 24th February 2011, 6:59PM GMT.

One of Oswestry’s bottleneck junctions may not have its promised traffic lights in place for several years, it has been revealed.

A scheme to install lights at the Salop Road junction with Middleton Road and Roft Street was put on hold two years ago for the outcome of the supermarket planning application and has never been reinstated in Shropshire Council’s roads programme.

Money that could have been used has now been assigned to a pedestrian crossing in Castle Street.
