Friday 11th February 2011, 11:29AM GMT.

A 15-year-old girl was knocked down by a car in a hit-and-run on a zebra crossing in Oswestry.

The teenager was hit by the car on the crossing outside Lloyds TSB in Church Street at about 11.15am on Tuesday.

Investigating officers said the incident involved a newer-shaped silver Vauxhall Corsa, driven by a woman with blonde hair, in her late teens or early 20s.

Police are checking CCTV images, but today urged her to come forward.

The girl was left shaken.
