Disturbing photographs of the remains of Osbaston House, the Shropshire home where failed businessman Christopher Foster murdered his wife and daughter are appearing on the internet.

Trespassers have been getting through security gates and over the walls into the grounds of Osbaston House, near Oswestry.

Local councillor Arthur Walpole said those taking the photographs were disrespecting the family of Jill and Kirstie Foster and the community. He has called for the building to be demolished as soon as possible.

“It is obvious from the photographs that have appeared on certain internet sites that people are trespassing onto the grounds and into the remains of the Osbaston House,” he said.

“It is very disturbing that there seems to be so much of the inside of the house still remaining and so much personal material.”

He added: “I have contacted the agents who are responsible for Osbaston House and asked them to take action immediately to clear the site and to look at the security.”

A large concrete block has been placed at the entrance to the driveway to prevent vehicles accessing the site. The gates to Osbaston House are secured with a large padlock and the remains of police tape can still be seen.

Including the photograph accompanying this article.

Alternatively, hire a helicopter, fly over the remains and photograph the remains that way.

The photographs are not disturbing at all.

So the story is accompanied by an aerial photograph taken by the press, a phrase involving a kettle and pot come to mind

    A couple of questions.
#1. Who goes looking on the internet for this sort of stuff and are the people any better than those who took the pictures.
#2. The press seem to have no scruples when it comes to showing graphic pictures, the Star was full of pictures taken from all manner of angles, and the one here is taken from an aircraft, a case of do as I say not as I do?

1.No they are no better, products are only there because there is a market for them.
2.The press have always been paragons of virtue, just do something of vague interest and they’ll be camped on your doorstep for days, or tap your mobile phone and find out what you’ve been up to!

“Local councillor Arthur Walpole said **those taking the photographs** were disrespecting the family of Jill and Kirstie Foster and the community.”

Really, Councillor Walpole? The photos of the property, furniture, personal effects, clothing etc are, according to website/webmaster in question, genuine.

The real disrespect is from the current owners of the property, cowardly and mysteriously hiding behind property consultants GVA Grimley in Birmingham, who have done absolutely nothing to the site, despite having planning permission to redevelop it since October 2009 – not to mention silly councillors who have clearly failed to kick the owners and their agents into action.

Indeed, GVA Grimley are quoted on the BBC as “looking into these recent reports of trespassing…”. Not our fault, Guv!

It’s high time to act upon the root cause of the problem – and to let the Fosters rest in peace.

I think its an ‘insides job’ from the council to rush through the demolition so an eyesore can be gotten rid of, using stories like this to rush the process through
