Wellington teenager stabbed and beaten with metal bars
Wednesday 9th February 2011, 11:57AM GMT.
A gang of masked men stabbed a teenager and beat him with metal bars and baseball bats after he got into his car in Telford.
The 19-year-old man was attacked by up to four armed men just seconds after he got into his vehicle in Espley Close, Wellington.
Police said the gang crashed their Volkswagen Golf into the victim’s car at high speed before jumping him as he sat in the driver’s seat after finishing work at 6.15pm on Saturday.
Detectives said the victim suffered stab wounds all over his body, including a severe cut to one of his arms.
The gang fled at high speed up Tan Bank.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Steve Tonks, leading inquiries, said: “Following the collision, three or four men dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered jumped out of the VW Golf carrying baseball bats and metal bars.
“They approached the victim’s vehicle, forced open the door and then attacked him.”
