Llandrindod Wells firm IXL in administration

One of the biggest employers in Llandrindod Wells has gone into administration, putting dozens of jobs at risk, administrators said today.

But IXL 2008 Limited will continue to trade with a skeleton workforce to fulfil orders.

Administrators ReSolve Partners LLP said today plans were to sell the business as a going concern, but it is not known how many jobs are under threat.

The factory, which supplies stationery including lever arch files, box files, ring binders and suspension files, was placed into administration on Tuesday night.

Councillor Mike Hodges, of Llandrindod Wells, said the news had come as a devastating blow to the town.

He said: “The possible loss of 70 jobs for a town of this size, in manufacturing terms, is unquantifiable.”

The company’s previous owner Setten and Durward was placed into administration in 2008, but 150 jobs were saved when it was bought by ZCOM Limited.

Mayor of Llandrindod Wells, Councillor Gary Price, said it was bad news for the area.

In a statement ReSolve Partners LLP said: “I confirm that Cameron Gunn and Mark Supperstone of ReSolve Partners LLP were appointed as joint administrators of IXL 2008 Limited on the evening of February 1, 2011.”

It added anyone interested in the firm should call 0207 702 9775.
