Telford man on trial over daughter’s murder

A Shropshire man accused of murdering his 24-year-old daughter at their family home was due to stand trial at Leicester Crown Court today.
Gurmeet Singh Ubhi, 53, of Leegomery, Telford, is accused of killing Amrit Kaur Ubhi on September 7. He denies the charge.
Miss Ubhi’s body was discovered at the home in Ber-beris Road she shared with her father and mother, Sat-ender Kaur Ubhi.
A post-mortem examination showed Miss Ubhi died as a result of strangulation.
