Christmas Day Telford mother dies in hospital
Monday 17th January 2011, 3:29PM GMT.
A 37-YEAR-OLD Shropshire woman who lost a newborn baby just two years ago has died weeks after giving birth to a healthy son on Christmas Day.
Sharon Teresa Morris is believed to have contracted pneumonia and died in the intensive care unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on January 9.
Mrs Morris, of Dickens Road, Trench, Telford, had previously suffered the heartache of her daughter, Solana, dying at the hospital when she was just hours old.
Mrs Morris leaves her husband, Alwyn, parents Malcolm and Muriel Jones, and sisters Denise and Tracey.
Mrs Morris used to work at WH Smith in Telford before moving onto a double glazing company owned by her sister in the town.
Her husband Alwyn works for Palethorpes in Market Drayton.
Mr and Mrs Jones, of Oaklands Drive, Trench, today described Sharon as “a happy go lucky girl” whom everyone loved.
Mrs Jones said it was a very close family and added: “We prayed but we lost her this time. Sharon had had a very rough time since she lost Solana.
“We had her at home up until she got married three years ago in St Lucia. She never left us.”
Mr Jones said: “It still hasn’t hit me yet. Sharon got a cough in the days after giving birth to Harvey by caesarian section.
“Her health went backwards and forwards. She ended up on life support and a dialysis machine.”
The couple said they had planned to sell their house and move in with Sharon to help look after her.
Mr Jones added: “She had to finish work because of her health. She could make friends with anyone and was a real daddy’s girl.
“She loved animals and once took in a rescue dog from Roden Kennels. She wouldn’t hurt anything or anyone.
“Sharon and Alwyn were inseparable. They loved each other and did everything together.”
A post-mortem has revealed she died from “natural causes”.
Her funeral service will be held at Telford Crematorium on January 31 at 11.15am. The family have requested family flowers only but donations can go to a charity of their choice.
