Telford councillors to thrash out spending cuts

Ruling councillors in Telford & Wrekin meet tonight to start thrashing out spending cuts needed to meet a fall of almost £19 million in Government funding over the next two years.

The borough’s Tory administration is proposing slashing £15 million off spending but the Labour opposition has lambasted the plan.

More street lights will be left off overnight in Telford and concessionary travel schemes will be trimmed.
