Teenager in court over Shrewsbury arson attack

A teenager appeared in court charged with an arson attack on a Shrewsbury housing estate.

Matthew Gill, 18, of Reedham Road, Herongate, was at Shrewsbury Crown Court accused of starting a fire at a home in the same street on December 1 last year.

Gill is charged with arson with intent to endanger life and giving a false alarm of fire to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

He was remanded in custody until a hearing on February 28 for plea and case management hearing.
