Woman cut free from car after Shrewsbury crash

A woman had to be cut free from a car following a crash in Shrewsbury.
The incident happened in Hereford Road, close to the Meole Brace roundabout at just before 1pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said they sent two pumps and the incident commander from Shrewsbury and the rescue tender from Wellington to the scene.
She said the collision was between an HGV lorry and a car and one woman driver, who was trapped in her car, had to be cut free.
Maria Wilkinson, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said police were also called at 12.50pm.
She said: “Police diverted traffic at the scene while officers from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service cut the woman free.”
She added the ambulance service was also called to the scene.
