Police appeal over River Severn rescue dog

Police in Shrewsbury today launched an appeal to track down the owner of a dog which was rescued from the town’s River Severn.

Police and fire crews rescued the dog near Telford Way bridge in Monkmoor just before 11am yesterday.

The animal is a female, Staffordshire bull terrier, brindle in colour with a white chest and a scar on its nose. It has a studded collar with a lead attached. It may have recently had puppies.

The owner is asked to call police in Shrewsbury on 0300 333 3000.

Oh dear, now we will get pleas to provide dog proof fences along the Severn, and where were the street pastors when they were needed?
Glad the old girl is OK though. Had she been drinking?
