Two in court over Shropshire murders

Two men appeared in court today accused of the murders of two Shropshire women in separate incidents.
Both men appeared before Shrewsbury Magistrates Court following incidents in Hanwood, near Shrewsbury, and Oswestry on Tuesday.
Steven Churchill was in court this morning after being charged with murdering Jane Francis Edwards.
Churchill, 51, of Stephenson Drive, Shrewsbury, was arrested on Wednesday at 5am at his home after police found Miss Edwards dead at a flat in Caradoc View, Hanwood, at about 6.40pm the previous day.
He spoke only to confirm his name and address during the hearing. He was remanded in custody and the case was referred to Shrewsbury Crown Court for a hearing on Tuesday.
Brian Woodmass, 58, of Orchard Street, Oswestry, appeared before magistrates charged with murder following a separate incident.
He was last night charged with killing Jill Nevitt who was found at an address in Orchard Street on Tuesday.
The case was adjourned and is also due to be heard before the crown court in Shrewsbury on Tuesday.
He was remanded in custody.
