Tickets appeal over Theatre Severn line-up
Saturday 11th December 2010, 11:30AM GMT.
Fans are being urged to snap up tickets now for an action-packed programme of events at a Shropshire theatre.
Tickets are selling fast for the 2011 programme at Theatre Severn, in Shrewsbury, with some shows already sold out and others with only limited availability remaining.
The theatre is presently staging its annual pantomime, Cinderella, which runs until January 3, but it will host a series of concerts, performances and other events after that.
Tickets for 2011 bookings are selling fast and bosses want people to make sure they don’t miss out, particularly with shows that are proving popular.
Craig Reeves, Theatre Severn spokesman, said booking was easy because details of all shows were online or in programmes available free of charge from the venue.
He said people could choose their seat if they booked via the internet. Alternatively, they could telephone the box office on (01743) 281281 or they could visit the venue at Frankwell Quay.
The first concert of the new year is already sold out with tickets having been snapped up for a performance from singer/songwriter Paul Carrack, the Sheffield-born singer and former frontman of Ace, Squeeze and Mike and the Mechanics.
Only a handful of tickets are available for Fireman Sam: Pontypandy Rocks, on January 16, while there is also limited availability for a concert by Queen tribute band Ga Ga, on January 29, and old school dance band The Glen Miller Orchestra, on January 30.
A comedy show by Mock the Week star Milton Jones on February 13 is sold out — though he will return to the venue on April 27, there is limited availability for Welsh singer and comedian Max Boyce on February 24 and a comedy show from Mock the Week star Sarah Millican on March 9 is sold out.
Among the other stars and shows appearing at the venue in 2011 are Kevin Precious, Peter Pan On Ice, Joe Longthorne, Gyles Brandreth, Oliver, The Chuckle Brothers, Barbara Dickson, Mark Steel, Ben E King, Julian Lloyd Webber, Cara Dillon, The Moscow Ballet and Pam Ayres.
