Warning on Shropshire 4×4 thefts

Thursday 9th December 2010, 6:59PM GMT.

Police today warned 4×4 drivers in Shropshire to be on their guard after two were stolen in the space of four days in the county.

Officers believe the vehicles are being stolen by thieves to sell abroad.

The first, a silver Land Rover Defender, was taken from Bridgnorth overnight between Saturday and Sunday. Another Land Rover was stolen overnight from a farm in Cross Houses, near Shrewsbury, on Tuesday.

Constable Stuart Lippitt urged owners to secure their vehicles as well as possible.
