Residents living on the Lake Vyrnwy Estate have launched a petition to support businessman Rhys Jones who has put in a bid for the area’s 125-year lease.

David Rowlands, who moved to Llanwddyn 62 years ago, has drawn up the petition to show support.

Severn Trent put the estate up for sale earlier this year with a price tag of around £11 million. A number of interested parties have now put in a bid including the RSPB and Mid Wales Housing Association.

Mr Rowlands, who is president of the community association, has the petition supporting Mr Jones displayed at the local post office, village shop and Tavern pub.

The Tavern pub has confirmed it has already got 30 signatures of support.
