A weekend of festivities was beginning in Oswestry today with thousands of people expected to pour into the town for the annual Christmas Music Live event.
Roads were due to be closed off from 3pm today to allow a giant funfair to be built in the streets, stalls to be put up for a food fair and a stage to be erected for live music.
The evening, which includes late night shopping, will end with a firework display.
Some Arriva buses will be diverted tomorrow as roads close once more just before 11am for the Rotary Club Christmas Parade.
The parade will start in Lower Brook Street at 11am and wind through Church Street before splitting with the smaller floats travelling along Cross Street and Beatrice Street and larger lorries going up Willow Street and Castle Street, it will merge and travel along Oswald Road and Cross Street.
Visitors are being urged to do their Christmas shopping in Oswestry.
