Sparrows in residence in Telford Sainsbury’s store
Friday 19th November 2010, 11:20AM GMT.
Two unwanted “customers” have taken up residence on the shop floor of a Shropshire supermarket.
Efforts are being made at Sainsbury’s on the Forge Retail Park in Telford to catch sparrows spotted flying around the store.
Staff have had to remove any loose bakery items from the shelves and humane traps have now been set up around the store to catch the feathered friends and release them into the wild.
Staff have been trying to coax the birds into the traps using bird seed.
