Father and son in court after Whitchurch drugs raid

A father and son charged with importing class A drugs after a raid on a Shropshire industrial estate have appeared in court.
Gulab Mohammed, 50, and his 28-year-old son Khalid Mohammed were arrested at Waymills Industrial Estate in Whitchurch on Friday.
The pair, both of Small Heath, Birmingham, appeared before magistrates in Telford yesterday accused of being concerned in the importation of the class A drug diamorphine.
Mr Andy Young, prosecuting, said 35kgs of heroin, valued at £50,000 per kilogram, was found in a container load of chilli powder from Pakistan.
The container was delivered to Birmingham by an undercover officer from the national Serious Organised Crime Agency, where the driver was paid to take it to the unit in Whitchurch.
The pair gave no indication of pleas and were both remanded in custody until November 23 when they will return to Telford Magistrates Court.
