Public meeting over Knighton vandalism

Residents of vandal-hit Knighton – where a recent wrecking spree will cost thousands of pounds to repair – are being urged to attend a meeting to help rid the town of anti- social behaviour.

Vandals have been targeting the Mid Wales town and Constable Bill Cowan, of Knighton Police, said he had arranged a meeting next month to discuss the problems.

He said he hoped dozens of people would attend and they could get together to discuss ways to combat the problem.

He said: “In light of recent events that include 10 offences being committed within one week involving a large amount of property being damaged to the value of thousands of pounds, this may be your opportunity to have your say.”

The Pact meeting will be held at 7pm at St Edward’s Church Hall in Church Street, Knighton, on December 2.

Constable Cowan said anybody with information about vandalism in the town should call 0845 3302000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
