Apprentice finalist to visit Shropshire’s Priory school
Tuesday 9th November 2010, 8:18AM GMT.
A finalist from hit TV show The Apprentice will be coming to Shrewsbury next week to inspire students by boosting their business acumen.
On Monday, Claire Young, who was a contestant on series four of the BBC1 show, will be visiting the Priory School to take part in The Priory School 2025 Challenge.
Sandra Cooper, business and enterprise community co-ordinator at the school, said: “The whole of next week is National Global Entrepreneurship Week and Claire will be launching the week to our Year 10 students before they embark on the challenge. ”
She added: “Students will be asked to design 3D models of how they think The Priory School will look in 2025.
“Claire will be mentoring groups of students giving them business advice and ideas.
“She will also be conducting a presentation skills clinic talking to students on how to create a winning presentation.
“Our head boy and girl will be assisting Claire throughout the day and, at the end of the challenge, students will present their ideas to Claire who will choose the winner,” she said.
Since losing out on her bid for the top job as Lord Alan Sugar’s Apprentice, businesswoman Claire has set up numerous business ventures.
She was a regular presenter for GMTV and has discussed business, employment and redundancy issues on Sky News and ITN.
Claire also contributes regularly to a number of newspapers and magazines.
