eBay theory over Fron Choir’s stolen advertising banners

A 7ft banner advertising the latest concert by the Fron Male Voice Choir has disappeared.

The internationally successful choir from Froncysyllte, near Oswestry, has been plagued by advertising posters and fliers being taken then being advertised for sale on internet auction site eBay.

But choir chairman David Jones said the theft of the banner had him completely bemused.

“We’ve heard of posters going missing but never a 7ft banner,” he said.

“Somehow I can’t see much demand for it on eBay.”

The concert at Wrexham’s William Aston Hall on Saturday will feature Irish soprano Margaret Keys, whose photo is on the banner.

It was taken from Johnstown, where it was hanging on a building, on Saturday night.

Mr Jones said a recent concert in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall was a typical example of what has been going on.

Within a week of the concert, posters were for sale all over eBay.
