Investigation continues into Welshpool boy’s death

Investigations were continuing today into an accident in which a 16-year-old Mid Wales boy died.

Kyle Fawcett, of Welshpool, died following a collision involving a bus in Newtown on Thursday evening.

The teenager was an engineering student at Coleg Powys and had hoped to become a mechanic in the army, his devastated family said yesterday.

Dyfed-Powys Police have today issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to the accident in Back Lane at about 6pm.

They said they wanted anyone with information to contact them as soon as possible on 0845 3302000.

Officers said the Tanat Valley bus involved was a local service which had just left the town’s bus station and was entering Back Lane when the accident occurred.

Meanwhile, Kyle’s friends plan to sell T-shirts in his memory, with all money going to his family or good causes. The fundraiser was announced on a tribute page set up on social networking site Facebook.
