Man arrested on suspicion of Shrewsbury rape attempt

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the attempted rape of a teenage girl in Shrewsbury early today.

Police arrested the man following an incident which is alleged to have happened between 2am and 2.45am in an alleyway next to the Hole in the Wall pub, in Shoplatch.

Police spokesman Richard Ewels said: “The girl, who is in her late teens, was not physically injured. The man was arrested a short time later in another part of the town.”
