Man, 18, attacked in Hadley, Telford

An 18-year-old Shropshire man was attacked by two men as he walked near a row of shops.

The victim was attacked from behind as he walked along Haybridge Road in Hadley, Telford, between 2.30pm and 2.45pm yesterday.

The victim told police he was first attacked by one man before a second man pulled up in a car and joined in. He suffered minor cuts to his head and face.

Chris Ammonds, spokes-man for Telford police, said: “The assault is reported to have taken place by the shops in Haybridge Road in Hadley.

“The victim was attacked by an unknown male while he was walking past the shops. While the assault was taking place a second man arrived in a car and also assaulted the victim.

“A number of people were around the area at the time of the incident and we are interested in hearing from anyone who saw anything to come forward.”

Mr Ammonds said the investigation was on-going and that all possible lines of inquiry were being investigated, including the use of possible CCTV footage from the area.

A section of the road was sealed off after the incident while forensic teams scoured the area for evidence.
