A fight broke out on a train bound for Telford after a passenger refused to pay for a ticket, transport police said today.

The train manager was allegedly attacked by the passenger as the 17.09 train travelled from Birmingham to Telford Central last night.

Two off-duty officers on the train arrested the passenger but another fight took place at Telford, British Transport Police said.

A 19-year-old man, from Wellington, was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

Witnesses can contact BTP on 0800 405040, quoting incident number 472 of 18/10/2010.

If found guilty or issued with a caution, a ban on riding any train should also be imposed.

Make trains safer for decent people to travel, ban these thugs.

I fully agree with comment number one.

THIS ACTIVITY MUST HE STOPPED BEFORE ANY SIGN OF AN INCREASE IN SUCH ACTIVITY IS SEEN.

BAN THIS YOUNG MAN FROM RAIL TRAVEL FOR MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS.

WE DON’T NEED HIS KIND ON OUR TRAINS!!

This is another case of anti-social behaviour and should be stamped on by the train companies and British Transport Police. However, as they are based at Wolverhampton, they are rarely seen.
