Men attack Hadley teenager with baseball bat
Saturday 16th October 2010, 9:07AM BST.
A teenager was left battered and bruised by three men who attacked him with a baseball bat in Telford.
The 18-year-old victim was set upon after the men pulled up alongside him in a car as he and a friend were walking along Crescent Road, in Hadley.
Telford police spokesman Chris Ammonds said the teenager and his friend were walking from the direction of the Summer House Inn, towards Haybridge Avenue.
Mr Ammonds said: “Between 7pm and 7.30pm on Thursday a car, thought to have been a black Vauxhall Astra, drove past the 18-year-old but then did a U-turn at the crossroads.
“The car pulled up and three men got out, one of them holding what appeared to be a baseball bat.
“The attacker swung the bat at the teenager but he put his arm up to parry the blow and was hit on the arm.
“A couple of other swings were taken but he managed to duck out of the way. The 18-year-old and his friend then managed to escape.”
Mr Ammonds said the victim was left suffering swelling and bruising to his left arm and added: “It seems to have been an unusual incident as it looks like the victim might have been deliberately targeted.
