Telford care firm creating 50 jobs

A Shropshire care firm is launching a recruitment drive to take on 50 new members of staff after announcing expansion plans.
We Are The Care Company, based at Jordan House in Telford town centre, has secured registered status from the Care Quality Commission.
It means the company can provide services to help elderly and vulnerable people continue to live in their own homes, including collecting and delivering shopping, cooking meals or even just stopping by for a chat.
Previously the firm, which was formed in February, could only supply staff to work in care homes.
The 50 new posts will be a mix of part-time and full-time positions with flexible hours.
The company will launch a recruitment drive by manning a stand in Telford Shopping Centre throughout next week. Vacancies will also be advertised.
Managing director Carl Williams said the firm was currently tendering for several contracts with county councils, including Staffordshire, as well as working on an ad hoc basis for Telford & Wrekin Council.
He said the vacancies were initially for front-line care staff and support workers to go into homes, but added there could be opportunities to move into management positions as the company expands.
