Some guests managed to rekindle childhood friendships while others made new friends. Everyone enjoyed a champagne tea. Live music was provided by Edna Jones, 79, from Wellington, who played the “Anniversary Waltz”.
Viv Birch, head of promotions at the Shropshire Star, said: “Everyone applied through an advert we ran in the paper. This is a small way we can repay some of the readers with a couple of hours of entertainment.”
